CORRELATION OF NLR AND PROCALCITONIN WITH SECONDARY INFECTION, SEVERITY, AND MORTALITY IN COVID-19

This was analytic observasional study with retrospective cohort design. Data collection done in Dr Soetomo Hospital?s isolation rooms during July-December 2020 period. Serial NLR and procalcitonin were recorded first on hospital admission, highest value of NLR/procalcitonin, then 24 hours before discharge. Secondary infection from positive cultures treatment. Severity measured by SOFA score WHO. Mortality data medical record. Spearman test, Mann-Whitney ROC curve analysis used statistical analysis. There 119 patients included this study. rate 38,6%. 21,8. significant correlations between severity (p<0,001). cutoff as severe-critical illness predictors >6,82. differences mortality groups >12,75. Procalcitonin >0,145 ng/ml. values >0,285 difference secondary infection. are useful COVID-19.
